Course description: Participants will be introduced to the various ways of
understanding community development and the characteristic features of each approach. Participants
will also discuss the associated models of and their applications in promoting community development.
Duration: 6 hours done in 2-hour segments.

Course description: Participants will discuss community transformation
models with emphasis on the features and applications of the Asset Based Community Development
model. The use of this model to bring about community transformation will be a major part of this course.

- exposed to the theory, principles, features and application of the Asset Based Community Model to community transformation initiatives.

Course description: Effective community change does not happen by
chance. It requires careful thought, thorough planning combined with astute leadership. Understanding
the planning and leadership requirements for successful community transformation is absolutely
necessary and will be provided through this course.
Duration: 6 hours done in segments of 2 hours.
Learning outcomes: Participants will be:
- exposed to the planning process necessary for successful community transformation.
- able to recognize the leadership requirements for successful community transformation.
- able to apply the Asset Based Community Model principles to outline a community transformation project that they would undertake.

experiences in community transformation through interactions with practitioners and professionals.
